SOFT PUNCH
Boxing is a story full of paradoxes.
I don’t love boxing in all its aspects, and I don’t think it’s possible to love it entirely.
Each person weaves a unique connection with this art, because we don’t all practice it in the same way, nor for the same reasons.
Boxing is a story of gazes — a dialogue between two people: the boxer who writes their own story, their coach, and the opponent they meet in the ring. This event is fantasized about for months, even years.
In the physical and mental preparation of a boxer about to fight, clothing plays a crucial role in this act of staging.
“SOFT PUNCH” is a clothing collection that emanates a sense of strength, safety, and comfort — both physical and emotional. Inspired by the color codes of English boxing, where red is traditionally reserved for the challenger and blue for the reigning champion, the collection unfolds in vivid pink. The graphic universe of Japanese packaging from my childhood adds touches of color and playful visuals, interwoven with illustrations, giving the pieces a deeply personal and powerful character.
